Marc Godfrey-Murphy set up his illustration business, MarcoLooks back in 2018. Before that, he graduated from the Character Animation course with Aardman Animation studios (the people behind Wallace&Gromit), going on to work as an animator on various cartoons for Cbeebies, notably Numberblocks and Tree Fu Tom. Now, Marc sells his work to shops across the UK. Quirky illustrations of punny animals to make people laugh, illustrations of York and cheeky birthday cards to pass some joy to a friend or family. He prints his my own coasters and colourful mugs in his York studio and most importantly, everything pops in bright and happy colour palettes. Not just an illustrator, he also works part-time as an animation tutor with an online animation school, and as a mentor to fledgling artists and makers who want to earn money from their creative practice, and part-time as a graphic designer for a local school’s trust. He also visits schools to teach the children how to draw cute characters.
